I'm Kiera. I'm 21. I call NYC my home. I'm a dreamer, a music lover, a street teamer, a picture taker, and a charity: water volunteer. I'm also an art school dropout and a current CUNY student. I am fluent in sarcasm. I love traveling, but I haven't had the chance to go very far. I enjoy making friends and would like to think of myself as a nice person. I like writing letters and collecting weird postcards. My favorite bands are Foxy Shazam and the Bouncing Souls. I go to a lot of concerts, you'll probably see me at one someday. This is also (at times) a place for me to dump my thoughts. Luckily, the "read more" button is a wonderful thing.

Last week my good friend and musical brother Andy Mrotek was jumped and attacked by multiple people, leaving him in need of reconstructive surgery. As procedures like this are very expensive, I wanted to do something to help Butcher through this horrible time.

On August 6th I will be playing a benefit show on Stageit.com in which all proceeds will be donated to Andy to help pay for his time in the hospital. I will be playing some of Andy’s favorite TAI songs in his honor.

If you have not attended a Stageit show before, its basically a live stream performance that you can watch me play from your computer at home. I’ve set the show up so that you can pay anything that you want from 10 cents to whatever. Keep in mind that this is a special benefit for Andy Mrotek and all proceeds will go towards helping him pay for his surgery.

Goo Goo Dolls - Iris

Talk about a landslide…

After 3 weeks and 2 polls pitting some great songs against each other, I believe we have a clear winner. In all honesty I was hoping that “Ordinary World” would come out on top, but alas, Goo Goo Dolls wins in a landslide. Not that I’m complaining… “Iris” is a fantastic song, and its an absolute honor to get to butcher it. :)

Maybe I’ll end up covering each of the songs I put in the poll… Time will tell. Anyway, enjoy the fifth installment of Under the Covers, thanks for stopping by.
